Experience the Essence of Elegance in Every Sip - Domaine Chatelain

Domaine Chatelain has roots beginning in 1630. Since then, the family has worked the soil of Pouilly sur Loire day after day. Three hundred years later, André Chatelain offered his wine abroad and built the foundation of our international reputation. The 12th generation now runs the Chatelain area of 30 hectares of vines in Pouilly Fumé AOC, spread over 6 towns of the 7 in the designation, including Tracy-sur-Loire – Pouilly-sur-Loire – Mesves-sur-Loire – Saint-Andelain – Saint-Laurent l’Abbaye – Saint-Martin-sur-Nohain.

Domaine Chatelain, located in Pouilly-Fumé in the Loire Valley, has been producing exceptional wines for over 300 years. From its humble beginnings in 1630, the Chatelain family has worked tirelessly to cultivate their 30 hectares of vines, spread across six of the seven communes of the Pouilly-Fumé appellation.

Led by Vincent Chatelain, the 12th generation of the family to take over the winery, Domaine Chatelain continues to uphold the legacy of winemaking excellence passed down from their ancestors. Vincent’s passion for the land and dedication to the craft is evident in the carefully cultivated and meticulously blended wines that are produced on the estate.

The winery’s unique terroir, composed of limestone sedimentary deposits and white pebbles, is difficult to exploit but produces structured, firm wines with a highly developed mineral flavor. With the use of the most advanced and sophisticated winemaking equipment, the Chatelain family is able to produce a well-worked, balanced, and very distinctive wine.
Domaine Chatelain’s reputation extends far beyond the borders of France, as the winery has been exporting their wine abroad since André Chatelain built the foundation of their international reputation in the early 20th century. Today, the winery remains one of the most respected and sought-after in the region, offering wine enthusiasts a taste of the history, tradition, and dedication that goes into each bottle of Domaine Chatelain wine.

Cordis - From Proto-Italic *kord, and Ancient Greek καρδίᾱ (kardíā) - meaning: from the heart

Cordis stands for “of the heart” in Latin. For us, it signifies the heart of the distillation, the best part of the distillate that we keep when throwing everything else away.
